Description
Antique Dayton Style No. 166 Computing Scale, manufactured by The Computing Scale Co. (a precursor to IBM) circa 1910.
This is a specific Australian Export Model, featuring the original internal chart calibrated for pre-decimal currency (Shillings and Pence), marked "Aust. 2½d to 2/-". The "computing" drum still moves freely, allowing you to see the calculated prices based on weight.
Key Details:
  • Original Weights Included: Comes with the hard-to-find graduated set of 4 cast iron weights (1lb, 8oz, 4oz, 2oz).
  • Condition: Beautiful original gold-tone patina with authentic "crazing" on the chart. Note: The front protective glass is missing—a common find for its age, but an easy fix for a restorer or perfectly fine for open-air display.
  • Mechanics: The spirit level is present, and the internal mechanism is functional.
  • Dimensions: 37cm (H) x 38cm (W) x 23cm (D)
  • Weight: 8kg
Location & Shipping:
