Description
Beautiful, authentic pair of Antique Oriental Bronze "Ling" (Temple) Bells, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. These bells are mounted on their original, hand-carved wooden yoke and feature rare embossed relief designs of multi-tiered pagodas and traditional landscapes.
These bells are traditional ritual objects (often Tibetan or Chinese) used in meditation or ceremonies. They feature a deep, natural charcoal-colored patina from over a century of oxidation. Each bell contains its original wooden clapper and produces a clear, resonant metallic ring when shaken.
A fantastic ethnographic piece for collectors of Asian art, Buddhism, or unique antique metalware.
