Unusual Antique Victorian Brass Sad iron with Turned Timber Handle

Good condition, commensurate with the age, as per the photos. Presents well overall. No damage. Some minor wear from use. Great collector's piece, made in the 19th Century. All brass construction with a turned timber handle. The rear of the iron has a lift panel to slide a hot piece of iron in there for heat needed for ironing. The insert is missing, which in no way affects the charming appeal of the iron
