Transcription of an old Scottish sampler from Inguana's Samplers.
It features many motifs that are frequently seen on other samplers – a house, trees, peacocks, fruit baskets, little dogs,
flowers and birds. More unusual is a single figure under The Tree of Knowledge. Assuming, that often Adam was embroidered on the left side of the tree with Eve standing on the right and serpent’s head pointing towards Eve, this lonely figure could be Adam. Eve is replaced with the fruit basket.
Another unusual feature of this sampler is that it has been signed twice.
