2014 Trek Neko SL Womens Hybrid Bike
If you need a bike to do it all; commuting, off roading or just cruising around, the Dual Sport & Neko range from Trek Bikes is built just for you. Standing for "Womens Specific Design", tis particular bike is the Ladies version of the DS 8.3. Improved standover clearance, a higher handlebar position and a female specific saddle help shape the Neko to fit the female body. Whereas many bikes are quite specialist at what they do, the Neko range is all about versatility and being able to tackle all kinds of different terrain. The 'SL' model is the top-of-the-range Neko bike from Trek and it comes with a number of upgrades as such. You get the lightweight Alpha Gold Alloy mainframe and an upgraded RST fork over last years Suntour, which features adjustable preload of the coil spring as well as a crown-mounted lockout. Compared to the Neko S, the SL gets upgraded to hydaulic disc brakes for more power and less fatigue on your hands. The reliable Shimano M395 stoppers are not only bombproof, they also feature adjustable lever reach so that you can fit any sized digits, which is particularly important for smaller ladies hands. There's a female version of the Bontrager Evoke saddle to support wider sit bones and the riding position on the Neko is built to provide a relatively upright posture so you're not aching your back trying to reach the bars. The Neko SL comes decked out with a smoother 9-speed gear set from Shimano that will see you pedalling up the steepest climbs and blasting your way down the longest descents. If you find yourself doing more commuting, the bike will happily take panniers and mudguards for those looking to ditch the car and join the cycling revolution!  For mixing it up and ultimate versatility, it's hard to look past the Neko due to its balance of strength, comfort and efficiency.
